The Badges module enables recognition and motivation through achievement badges. Award badges for completed training, volunteer hours, event attendance, and other accomplishments.

How to access

Creating Badge Types

Badge types categorize your badges:

Navigate to Badge Types

Go to SettingsFeaturesBadge Types.

Click Create Badge Type

Click Create Badge Type.

Configure type

Enter name and upload an image/icon.

Save

Save the badge type.

Creating Badges

Navigate to Badges

Go to SettingsFeaturesBadges.

Click Create Badge

Click Create Badge.

Configure badge

Enter name, description, and upload image.

Select type

Choose the badge type category.

Set criteria

Define what earns this badge (optional).

Save

Save the badge.

Awarding Badges

Manual Assignment

  1. Go to member’s ProfileBadges tab
  2. Click Add Badge
  3. Select the badge to award
  4. Add notes (optional)
  5. Save

Automatic Assignment

Badges can be awarded automatically when:
  • Course/training completed
  • Certain number of events attended
  • Volunteer hours milestone reached
  • Membership anniversary

Member Badge Display

Members see their badges on:
  • Profile page
  • Public profile (if enabled)
  • Membership card

Badge Visibility

Configure whether badges are:
  • Visible on public profile
  • Visible to other members
  • Private to member and admins

Use Cases

Award badges when members complete required training courses.
Recognize volunteer hours milestones (10 hours, 50 hours, 100 hours).
Badge for attending annual conference or key events.
Recognize 1 year, 5 years, 10 years of membership.
Award for exceptional contributions or leadership.

Best Practices

Create badges for achievements that matter to your organization.
Members should understand how to earn each badge.
Use consistent, high-quality badge images.
Don’t let badges become forgotten. Award them regularly.
Announce badge awards in newsletters or discussions.
